Learners from Oak Class at Rowan School enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to Little Owl Farm Park on 13th May 2026 as part of their ongoing learning in English and Science.
The visit provided learners with the opportunity to bring classroom topics to life by exploring animals and plants within a real farm environment. Having recently focused on animals in English lessons and plants in Science, learners were enthusiastic about seeing a variety of farm animals in their habitats and discovering new facts about them throughout the day.
During the visit, learners were able to feed some of the farm animals and interact with smaller animals through supervised petting experiences. These hands-on activities encouraged curiosity, sensory exploration and confidence while helping learners deepen their understanding of the natural world.
Oak Class also enjoyed imaginative role play activities during the trip, including pretending to be farmers while sitting inside a tractor and combine harvester. The activities supported communication, creativity and social interaction while making learning both practical and memorable.
Snita Verma, Principal of Rowan School, said:
“Educational visits such as this provide valuable opportunities for learners to experience learning in a practical and engaging way. Oak Class thoroughly enjoyed exploring the farm environment, interacting with the animals and developing their understanding of nature and farming. We are incredibly proud of how positively the learners engaged throughout the day.”
The visit forms part of Rowan School’s commitment to providing meaningful educational experiences that support personal development, curiosity and hands-on learning beyond the classroom.
