Learners across Rowan School have taken on an exciting new responsibility as part of the school’s commitment to promoting online safety and digital responsibility.
Earlier this term, learners were invited to apply for the role of Online Champion, submitting applications to demonstrate their understanding of online safety and their commitment to being positive digital role models within the school community. Following a thoughtful selection process, successful applicants were proudly awarded their official Online Champion badges during a whole-school assembly on 30 January 2026.
The initiative recognises learners who have shown maturity, responsibility and enthusiasm for helping others stay safe online. Each Online Champion will now work closely with Miss Postin, the School’s Designated Data and Online Safety Lead, supporting their peers across different classes and helping to reinforce key messages around safe and respectful online behaviour.
School Principal Snita Verma praised the learners for their commitment and leadership:
“At Rowan School, we believe in empowering our learners to take active roles in shaping a safe and supportive community. Our Online Champions have demonstrated real responsibility and understanding of digital safety. I am incredibly proud of their initiative and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have across the school.”
Miss Postin shared her enthusiasm for the programme and is looking forward to collaborating with each champion from across the school as they begin their new roles.
Rowan School is proud of its Online Champions and the leadership they are already showing in promoting a safe, respectful and informed digital environment.
