As part of Rowan School’s ongoing commitment to fostering a love of reading, Oak Class recently enjoyed an enriching visit to the local library. The excursion offered learners the opportunity to explore a wider range of books and develop their independence in selecting stories that interest them.
The library is within walking distance of the school, making it possible for Oak Class to make regular trips. Learners relished the experience of being in a library environment, discovering new authors, and immersing themselves in stories of their choice.
After returning to school, the children shared the books they had borrowed, sparking lively discussions and a sense of excitement around reading. Staff are looking forward to continuing this library programme next half term, enabling learners to exchange their books and maintain their enthusiasm for reading.
