Rowan School Celebrates Black History Month 2025

This October, Rowan School in Dudley proudly celebrated Black History Month, with a series of engaging and inspiring activities across the school. Throughout the month, learners explored the achievements and contributions of Black people throughout history, deepening their understanding of diversity, equality, and inclusion.

Classes learned about influential figures who have made a lasting impact in fields such as science, music, art, sport, and civil rights. Through stories, discussions, creative projects, and classroom displays, learners were encouraged to reflect on the importance of respect, fairness, and celebrating individuality.

School Principal Snita Verma said:

“Black History Month is a valuable opportunity for our learners to recognise and celebrate the achievements of Black people and to understand how diversity enriches all our lives. It helps foster empathy, respect, and a sense of belonging, values that are at the heart of everything we do at Rowan School.”

The celebrations created a vibrant and thoughtful atmosphere throughout the school, helping learners connect past and present and inspiring them to continue learning about the world around them.
