Learners in Willow Class at Rowan School have been getting hands-on with nature by creating their very own class garden. From carefully planting seeds to patiently watching them sprout, the children have nurtured a variety of plants and discovered the joy of growing their own food.
The highlight of their hard work was the thriving cucumber plant, which produced plenty of crunchy, fresh cucumbers for the learners to taste-test. The children were delighted to share their thoughts on the benefits of home-grown fruits and vegetables, linking their gardening to healthy eating and sustainability.
This project has given Willow Class the chance to learn practical skills, experience responsibility, and celebrate the rewards of their efforts, all while having fun together in the garden.
Snita Verma, Principal of Rowan School, said:
“Our Willow Class learners have shown such enthusiasm and pride in their gardening project. Growing their own food has been a fantastic way to combine practical skills with learning about healthy lifestyles. The joy on their faces as they harvested and tasted their cucumbers was wonderful to see.”
